The street in front of the Cascades sales office is already bustling with preparation for this evenings Riverwalk Festival in Winooski VT. We are very excited to be sponsoring as the Winooski Falls Development Group. There will be live music, food, games and fireworks at sunset. Tammy Fletcher and Waylon Speed are a few of the performers today. You’ll also find food as mixed as our little community from all different cultures.

Winooski Falls Way will be closed down at 4PM for the festival. You can find parking in the city garage off Cascades Way. It is free for all festival goers. Come down and enjoy!

I was sent an article,  “Retrofitting for the Elderly“,  from the Terrapass website. It is a pretty interesting post that struck a cord with what we have done at the Cascades. The Winooski Falls development has created a walk-able, green community that is easily assessable to seniors.

Granted it is not lost on me that the one major thing we need  is a market, but we’re working on that and it will come. In the meantime we’re minutes from care at the hospital and close to public transportation that can take our residents downtown, to campus, the hospital, etc. It was cool to see what other communities are doing to create these senior friendly environments and how this in turn creates a green community.

The team at the Cascades is excited to welcome Julie Breton as their new Sales and Marketing Associate. The Cascades at Winooski Falls is excited to announce the newest member of their sales team, Maggie Macdonald. Maggie grew up in Stowe and graduated from UVM in 2000. She comes to us with a background in Real Estate from New York City, where she work for the Corcoran Group. Maggie has also spent the last two years working as the Director of Client Relations for Union Street Media. A web development company that focuses primarily on Real Estate websites.
